Back Room Politics in the Ko`olani:
In my opinion Back Room Politics is the puzzling maze of meetings that select Directors create to confuse their constituents:
Select Board members run it as a closed club and operate in secret.
But, one should not make the mistake of thinking that this is not taken place in the past or may not take place in the future
Candidates, at least some of them are engaged in old-fashioned smoke-filled room maneuvering, engaged in private talks with each other, which could even include talks with management companies, venders, legal advisors and employee staff in the effort to gain the kind of influential support that will lead to enough endorsements to make a Democratic decision unnecessary.
How much back-room politics held in secret is ethical?
In my opinion backroom politics is an attempt to micro-manage, control and bypass or democratic process. I for one prefer not to be a part of back room politics, and would like to see this practice end in our building; I believe all Directors are elected by the people for the people and that all Directors should be a part of all discussions at hand, back room politics ram rod the decisions made by the majority participating in this practice thus never hearing or not allowing the opinions of other Directors and homeowners to be heard.
